Explore Beverly's journey among the 1135 individuals supported by the Grace Care Center.

1135 Care Center Friends have asked for help from the Grace Care Center this year. That’s why we resource the Grace Care Center. Here is just one of those 1135 stories.

Beverly first came to the United States in 2014 due to the insecurity in Nigeria with the Boko Haram crisis (a violent Islamist insurgency, that has terrorized communities, killing an estimated 50,000 and displacing more than 2.5 million people.)  She moved here with her 4 children on a study visa. When she first arrived she was financially stable, able to make ends meet but that soon changed. The financial currency of her country started to lose value and quickly she was unable to pay all of her bills and take care of her family. A neighbor of Beverly's introduced her to the Care Center.

She appreciated the shopping style, as she was able to choose what she needed and wanted and wasn't asked to take things she didn't need. Using the Choice Pantry weekly has been a great help allowing her to pay her bills. She no longer struggles with the choice of food or a roof over her family's head.

One thing that stood out to Beverly using the Care Center was one of the volunteers asking her where she was from. Then asking how to say hello in her language. Every time she sees that volunteer she is greeted with a hello in her language. That extra touch from the volunteer is something special in Beverly's heart. She knows she isn't just a number when she comes to the Care Center.

At the Grace Care Center people find food and support, but they also find so much more. Donate now to ensure the Grace Care Center can continue to help change more lives like Beverly's. A special group of donors pledged to match gifts up to $50,000. Donate NOW to ensure your contribution qualifies for a match before it’s gone!
