Here’s What Happened Next to Beverly!

Last week we began to tell you how supporting the Foundation for Sustainable Care impacts the 1135 Care Center Friends who found hope this year at the Grace Care Center. It’s so important to remember that these numbers represent real people in our community. Last week, we told you about Beverly and this week we’d like to share a bit more!

In Beverly’s own words:

“As I continued to use the Choice Pantry weekly different volunteers would ask more about me, about my story, and how they could help. One week someone asked me if I ever heard about the co-op, I asked more questions and it really sounded great. Meeting with people in regard to my finances and other areas of my life sounded like a great next step in my journey. When I started we really focused on my financial budget and changes I could make to stretch my money. We then moved to updating my resume as I was starting to look for a job while still in school full-time. They also helped me find a cheaper internet plan which I needed for schooling and helping with oil changes for my vehicle.

I was able to secure a job that was tied to my schooling so I could increase my income to make ends meet. I found myself at a point where not only did the groceries help but also it was nice to know I could always ask anything to my coaches to get their advice and feedback.”

While Beverly’s story is far from over, we’ll be sharing more next week! In the meantime, there is still time to double your impact this year by giving during our $50,000 matching grant! If you would like to help more folks like Beverly this is the best way to multiply your impact! Don’t forget to tune in next week to hear more from Beverly!
