Hamilton County Health Department Supports Nutritious Choices

The Hamilton County Health Department recently announced their 2025 Health First Hamilton County Grant awardees. We are pleased to share that Grace Care Center’s Choice Food Pantry has been selected!

Above, a Care Center Friend selects produce for her family. The number one item off the shelf at Grace Care Center’s Choice Food Pantry and Mobile Pantry is fresh produce, followed by meat, dairy, and eggs.

The Hamilton County Grant program provides funding to organizations that offer services that fill the gaps in government programming. The Choice Food Pantry meets this requirement by providing Hamilton County residents facing food insecurities with nutritious food choices as well as nutrition education.

In addition, the Choice Food Pantry has been identified as an awardee that provides a core public health service. The pantry, therefore, can also be supported by the Health First Hamilton County program!

This generous support from the Hamilton County Health Department will enable Grace Care Center to further expand the food pantry with additional nutritious options. Our goal is to serve as many Hamilton County individuals and families as possible, and this grant will help make that possible. 

“Hundreds of families from throughout Hamilton County walk through the doors of the Choice Food Pantry each week,” says Grace Care Center Foundation Executive Director Cara Augspurger. “We’re committed to making sure every neighbor has a dignified experience, and we’re excited to partner with the Hamilton County Health Department to make that happen."

Alongside the Choice Food Pantry, Grace Care Center operates several services and programs, including the Thrift Store, Mobile Food Pantry, Co-Op Program, English Classes, and Vehicle Services. Through these offerings, Grace Care Center serves hundreds of individuals and families in Hamilton County.
